My background
Hello and warm greetings! I’m George Lopez — a proud father, grandfather, devoted husband, and military veteran. Originally from the beautiful country of Belize, I now call Chesapeake, Virginia home. I have the honor of serving as president of Pickleball World Class, a nonprofit organization with a mission close to my heart.
My journey with pickleball began over five years ago, and I’ve loved every minute of it! Beyond playing, I’m also a certified instructor specializing in beginner-level classes. For nearly a year, I’ve had the privilege of teaching through Chesapeake Parks and Recreation, where I lead monthly beginner sessions. I truly enjoy engaging with people, sharing the joy of the game, and building lasting relationships.
A few months ago, we founded Pickleball World Class to make a real difference — especially for families in need and fellow veterans. We believe in the power of community, connection, and care. Through our programs, we aim to uplift, support, and serve those who need it most.
The journey has just begun, and we’re excited for what’s ahead!

Mission
At Pickleball World Class, our mission is to serve distressed children and veteran families who are struggling to make ends meet. We strive to uplift and empower them by offering access to pickleball camps, programs, and group activities that promote wellness, connection, and community.
By partnering with schools, churches, community organizations, and corporations, we are bringing the joy and benefits of pickleball to neighborhoods across the country.
Through ongoing fundraising efforts — including donations, raffles, auctions, and monthly tournaments — we are building a movement of support and hope, one paddle at a time.
